Little Étoile's Product Development

Little Étoile Organic uses a careful, step-by-step process in the design of its baby food.

  • The science of nutrition: we take the time to understand the nutritional requirements of babies as they transition from formulas to solids.
  • Designed by parents for kids: many members of our development teams are parents themselves, who have an intimate knowledge of what babies want – it has to be delicious, but also nutritious.
  • Try and try again, until we get it right: we go through many iterations until we are happy with the final version.

Our commitment to Quality

Our background in science and health means that we focus even more rigorously on quality standards.

  • Certified organic – we source the cleanest and most reliably produced Australian organic ingredients.
  • High manufacturing standards – all our foods are produced according to strict Australian and New Zealand food standards to ensure
    • Safety: free from allergens, foreign chemicals and preservatives.
    • Cleanliness: produced in Australia using state-of-the-art filling and retort treatment processes and contaminant free.
    • Stability: guaranteed 1 year shelf-life.
What makes us different ?
The Whole Systems Organic approach

Whole systems organic is not just chemical free. In order to achieve the ORGANIC certification,  Little Étoile is required to incorporate a holistic approach, ensuring that the entire growing and manufacturing process is organic and sustainable, not just the type of ingredients themselves.

The whole food production system is connected and inter-dependent:

  • Soil: provides nutrients for plants to grow.
  • Crops: use soil nutrients to feed animals, such as dairy cattle.
  • Animals: absorb nutrients and respond to changes in the environment.
  • Food: all these nutrients end up in the food that we eat.
  • Adults and children: the food our children eat directly impacts their health.
  • Environment: sustainability means that the environment is protected, which preserves its natural state.

Whole system organic means that every step in the process food product at every stage is controlled, so that the cycle is protected against:

  • Chemicals: pesticides and herbicides
  • Poor farming practices: unsustainable and impacting heavily on the environment
  • Poor handling procedures: manipulation or handling that damages or affects freshness or cleanliness, or unsustainable practices
  • Adulteration: from non-organic sources or contaminants

Because safety is number one for babies, so controlling all steps in the organic food system is critical.
